Skyler Matthias is originally from Iowa with stops in St. Louis, Arkansas, and Thailand before landing in Gunnison, CO in 2023. Skyler holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s in Theatre Arts. Before joining GVRHA, he served as the Director of AmeriCorps Programs with Mountain Roots Food Project and previously worked with City Year in Little Rock. As a returned Peace Corps volunteer from Thailand, he has dedicated his career to community development and service.

Passionate about creating positive experiences for others, Skyler understands the critical role affordable housing plays in building a thriving community. He is excited to contribute to solutions that help individuals and families establish their homes in the Gunnison Valley. When not working, Skyler enjoys directing theater productions, DJing weddings and events, and exploring the mountains.
